Join us for an educational series on diabetes for adults who are pre-diabetic, diabetic, and their families and/or caregivers.  

Learn how to manage the condition through menu planning, carbohydrate counting, portion control, label reading, and physical activity.

Wednesday, October 31– Informational Session (last chance to pay registration in person) 

November 7– Session 1: What is Diabetes?  
November 21– Session 2: Carbohydrates and Sweeteners 
November 28 – Session 3: Fats and Sodium December 5 – Session 4: Vitamins, Minerals, and Fiber 
TBD– Reunion/Review Session

*The cost is $40 to attend and is open to the public. Some diabetes prevention programs can be reimbursed by insurance. Contact your insurance provider for more information.  Costs will cover educational enhancement items, recipes, and take-home booklets. The program will be conducted by Kylee Brown, Area Nutrition Agent with the LSU AgCenter and community partners. Participants will receive all information presented at each class, plus a few handy kitchen accessories, and a certificate of completion.
