Agricultural Pest Control (Category 1 and 10)

This study guide is for those wanting to become certified in Category 1: Ag Pest Control and/or Category 10: Demonstration and Research.

Category 1 includes commercial applicators using or supervising the use of restricted use pesticides on agricultural lands, grasslands and noncrop agricultural lands. This category also includes commercial applicators using or supervising the use of restricted use pesticides on animals and to places where animals are confined. (It includes doctors of veterinary medicine engaged in the business of applying pesticides for hire, publicly holding themselves out as pesticide applicators or engaged in large scale use of pesticides.)

Category 10 includes individuals who demonstrate to the public the proper use and techniques of application of pesticides with restricted uses – or who supervise such demonstrations or people conducting field research with pesticides – and, in doing so, use or supervise the use restricted use pesticides.
